What a weekend.
Russia's World Cup freight train keeps a-rollin' round the bend, and Spain haven't seen the like since... I don't know when. Their penalty heroics ensured that they set up a quarter-final against Croatia, who had to show their mettle in a seemingly never-ending shoot-out. Did Kasper Schmeichel get his comeuppance for starting Modric's extra-time penalty in another postcode?
Uruguay beat Portugal in the Battle of the Bastards, and France played out one of the all-time most entertaining games of World Cup football. Benjamin Pavard's goal was a thing of total beauty.
Cork were crowned Munster hurling champions after they downed Clare on Sunday afternoon, and Anthony Moyles will join Eoin Sheahan in studio to talk through the weekend's hurling action which also saw Kilkenny and Galway draw.
Newbridge was a scene of unfettered joy on Saturday evening, the likes of which that can only come from being truly vindicated in one's conviction. Mayo were put to the sword, and the Championship is left to wonder whether Dublin's march to another Sam Maguire has been dealt a serious shot in the arm.
