Xander Schauffele leads at storm-hit Sentry Tournament of Champions

Defending champion Xander Schauffele is the halfway leader at the Sentry Tournament of Champions event in Hawaii.

He shot a bogey-free second round 68 to move to nine-under par - one shot clear of Patrick Reed and Joaquin Niemann.

Play was stopped twice on day two due to stormy conditions and Schauffele says the conditions were far from ideal:

"This is rain and wind that we don't play in too often in but fortunately it's kind of warm.

"I wasn't thinking about my score because I was trying to stay as dry and warm as possible.

"A day of adjustment is sort of how I like to look at it, and glad we were able to come out on top.

"Besides looking the same and looking over at Molokai, very different."

"We're on the same property, but for the most part there's no memory I can fall back on when it comes to making a putt or hitting a bump-and-run shot on a certain hole since the green layouts are very different."

Rickie Fowler is in fourth place at seven-under with his fellow American Justin Thomas a further shot back.

Graeme McDowell is three-under after his second-round 69 while Irish Open champion Jon Rahm is the leading European player at four-under.
