WATCH: Last-gasp Egan header hurts Wolves Champions League hopes

Republic of Ireland defender John Egan scored deep into injury time to give Sheffield United a win over Wolves to add new life to the Blades European hopes.

They were well into the final minute of added time at Bramall Lane when the centre-half's header shook standing water from the Wolves net.

Two of this season's Premier League surprise packages appeared to have cancelled each other out until United won a late corner.

Ollie Norwood swung the ball into the centre of the Wolves box and found the head of Egan, loose of his marker and most gravitational laws.

His header secured three vital points for Chris Wilder's side who are still in contention for a Europa League place.

Three points this evening would have seen Wolves pull level on points with fifth placed Manchester United.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side stay where they are, with games remaining against Everton, Burnley, Crystal Palace and Chelsea.

David Silva gave the Premier League a taste of what it will be missing next season.

The diminutive Spaniard was the beating heart behind Manchester City's 5-0 demolition of a sorry Newcastle side at the Etihad.

Silva's perfectly measured square ball teed up Gabriel Jesus for City's first inside 10-minutes.

In stoppage time he also pounced on a loose Nabil Bentaleb ball to play Raheem Sterling through for City's fifth.

In between he had time to curl a perfectly-weighted free-kick past Slovakian Martin Dubravka in the Newcastle goal.

City's other goals came from Riyad Mahrez, and a comical own goal from Federico Fernandez that summed up Newcastle's evening.

And Burnley's fantastic run continued with a 1-0 win away to West Ham.

Charlie Taylor was afforded far too much time and space down the Burnley left to swing a cross in for the head of Jay Rodriguez to give Sean Dyche's side the lead.

Some fine work from Nick Pope in the Burnley goal kept West Ham at bay.

It could have been 2-0 just shy of the hour mark, but Chris Wood had a goal chalked off by VAR for offside.

Burnley are ninth in the table, the meat in an Arsenal-Tottenham sandwich.

While defeat for the Hammers leaves them just four-points from safety and a tricky run-in against Norwich, Manchester United, Watford and Aston Villa.
