Man Utd v Chelsea & Arsenal v Man City | FA Cup schedule confirmed

The FA Cup semi-final schedule has been confirmed with both games due to take place at Wembley Stadium later this month.

First up will be the cup holders Manchester City who will take on record cup winner Arsenal on Saturday 18 July.

That tie will kick-off at 7.45pm and is being broadcast live on BT Sport.

Arsenal made it to the semi-finals with a dramatic late 2-1 win against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane while City were 2-0 winners away to Newcastle in the quarter-finals.

The Gunners have been hammered twice in the Premier League this season by Manchester City.

They were beaten 3-0 by Pep Guardiola's team at the Emirates last December and on the first day back after the season restarted they lost by the same scoreline at the Etihad.

The day after the first semi-final, Sunday 19 July, will see Manchester United take on Chelsea with that tie starting at 6pm and it will be shown live on BBC One.

United needed extra-time in order to secure their last-four place by beating Norwich City 2-1 at Carrow Road while Chelsea were also away winners in the last round, beating Leicester City 1-0 at the King Power Stadium.

It will be the fourth meeting of United and Chelsea this season and the Londoners have lost all three.

United were 4-0 winners at Old Trafford on the opening day of the Premier League season before winning 2-1 away to Frank Lampard's side in the last-16 of the EFL Cup last October.

Both semi-finals will be played behind closed doors and the winning clubs will return to Wembley Stadium for the Heads Up FA Cup Final, which is scheduled for Saturday 1 August.
