Scottie Pippen reportedly "beyond livid" at portrayal in The Last Dance

Scottie Pippen is reportedly the latest ex-teammate of Michael Jordan to be unhappy with his portrayal in The Last Dance documentary series.

The 10-part series, which aired its final episodes on Netflix on Monday, has been widely praised by fans, but has drawn ire from some ex-players, who feel it hasn't given the full account of Jordan's decorated career with the Chicago Bulls.

You can add Scottie Pippen to the list. The former six-time NBA champion took part in the series, but is reportedly "beyond livid" at the way he was portrayed, with his stand-off with Bulls owner Jerry Krause a running storyline during the documentary.

David Kaplan - a Chicago-based ESPN radio host - said: "He is so angry at Michael and how he was portrayed, called selfish, called this, called that, that he’s furious that he participated and did not realize what he was getting himself into."

While the 10-part series speaks to a number of Jordan's former teammates and players, there has been criticism of its impartiality, with Jordan ultimately having editorial control over the final cut.

"(Scottie) felt like up until the last few minutes of Game 6 against the Jazz (in the 1998 NBA finals), it was just ‘bash Scottie, bash Scottie, bash Scottie", Kaplan added.

It's the second time that Pippen's displeasure at the series has been reported, with ESPN’s Jackie McMullan earlier saying: "Those close to him say he’s wounded and disappointed by his portrayal."

It comes after another former teammate Horace Grant spoke out against his own portrayal, after it was claimed he had collaborated with Sam Smith in his 1992 book The Jordan Rules.

"Lie, lie, lie ... If MJ had a grudge with me, let's settle it like men," he said.

"Sam and I have always been great friends. We're still great friends. But the sanctity of that locker room, I would never put anything personal out there. The mere fact that Sam Smith was an investigative reporter [and] that he had to have two sources, two, to write a book, I guess. Why would MJ just point me out?

"It's only a grudge, man. I'm telling you, it was only a grudge. And I think he proved that during this so-called documentary. When if you say something about him, he's going to cut you off, he's going to try to destroy your character," Grant added.
