Peter O'Mahony has rubbished the suggestion that Ireland lacked motivation against England in their Six Nations opener.
Ireland were comprehensively dismantled by the old enemy at Lansdowne Road last weekend. The inquest began before the corpse was cold as pundits pored over the loss.
Consensus couldn’t be reached on why, but what was clear, was that Ireland were completely outclassed.
Conor Murray told OffTheBall.com in the immediate aftermath of the game that England were just "more pumped" than Ireland:
“I think they were just a bit more pumped today for whatever reason. We’ll go through it and find out why that was.
“We had a great two weeks of preparation but for whatever reason, we were a little bit off it today and they’re a top side.
“They fully deserved their win.”

His Munster and Ireland team mate looked offended by the inference that they might have lacked the hunger to win the game:
“I don’t think we weren’t motivated to go and win at home.
“Nah, that doesn't sit well with me, rugby wise we got beaten by a better team at the weekend, we go and put that right now by training well this week, that’s our focus.
“I don't know why we would be panicking.
“You know we've been sitting here for a long time now and it's been all positive this and that but we were up against one of the best teams in the world and we got beaten, and we're certainly not going to shy away from that.
“It hurts but we're going to go back to what we do well and we're going to do that excellently this week, hopefully.”
