Leinster seal third successive Guinness PRO14 title

Leinster have warmed up for next week's Heineken Champions Cup showdown with Saracens by sealing their third Guinness PRO14 title in-a-row.

James Lowe, Robbie Henshaw and Caelan Doris scored tries for Leo Cullen's double chasers in their 27-5 victory over Ulster at the Aviva Stadium.

Ulster, who were appearing in their first final in seven seasons, made a stunning start to the game with James Hume weaving his way through the Blues' defence for a sensational individual try in the fifth-minute.

Leinster took the lead eight minutes later when Jameson Gibson Park's clever pass opened space for winger James Lowe to cross the whitewash, with Ross Byrne adding the conversion.

Ulster's stranglehold on possession for the remainder of the opening-half yielded no more points on the scoreboard as a Ross Byrne penalty allowed the Blues to establish a five-point advantage at the interval.

Byrne slotted another penalty early in the second-half before Ireland centre Robbie Henshaw intercepted a sloppy Billy Burns pass in the 46th-minute with the Athlone man running the ball to the try-line.

The victory and 'three-peat' was sealed eight minutes from time with Caelan Doris crashing through the Ulster defence to score Leinster's third try as they ran out 27-5 winners.

Next up for Leo Cullen's team is a European quarter-final against holders Saracens at the Aviva next Saturday, in what's a rematch from last season's Champions Cup decider.
