"I've always enjoyed it, keep it coming" - Solskjaer relishes criticism

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has claimed he's not been disheartened by the criticism of his performance as Manchester United manager.

Saturday evening's 3-0 win at Tottenham ended a three-game winless run in the Premier League.

Solskjaer's grip on the United job appeared to be weakening after last week's 5-0 pummelling at the hands of Liverpool at Old Trafford.

There were rumours Antonio Conte was being lined up as a potential replacement for the Norwegian. However, the former Juventus and Chelsea boss appears finally destined for Tottenham following the sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo on Monday.

United are away to Atalanta in the Champions League on Tuesday, led by a freshly emboldened Solskjaer.

"Criticism can make you doubt yourself or you can stand up for yourself," he told his pre-match press conference in Bergamo, "I've always enjoyed it, keep it coming.

"We've all got different jobs and it is their [pundits] jobs to give their opinion. I am not here to fight with anyone."

Rather than widening existing fissures, Solskjaer claimed the media reaction to United's recent form ha actually brought the squad and management closer together.

"It has [produced a siege mentality]," he said.

"We don't have time for anybody to sulk, if you're not in starting XI you are there to support your teammates.

"The attitude was spot on [against Tottenham]. Players want to play, nobody is happy when they don't. It is the team before any individual."

Despite his renewed confidence, Solskjaer is well aware of the potential one-two punch in their next games with Atalanta and Manchester City.

The United boss has refused to get carried away with the Spurs result, saying, "Next one is the one which matters.

"We know when we get consistency we will get results. One swallow does not make a summer.

"It is a chance tomorrow to prove we can go again."
