James Lowe, Josh van der Flier and Tadhg Beirne will all start for Ireland against Wales.

Ireland head coach Andy Farrell has named his team for Sunday's Six Nations opener in Cardiff, where Ireland haven't won in the tournament since 2013.

Johnny Sexton has recovered from a hamstring injury to take his place in the starting 15 and will be partnered by Conor Murray in the half-backs.

It's an all-Leinster centre pairing of Robbie Henshaw and Garry Ringrose and Farrell has opted for James Lowe on the left-wing ahead of Jordan Larmour.

Keith Earls is named on the right-wing and Hugo Keenan will start at full-back.

In the pack, it's a front row of Cian Healy, Rob Herring and Andrew Porter with Healy in line to make his 50th Championship appearance and 105th cap for Ireland.

Tadhg Beirne gets the nod in the second row alongside James Ryan, while Josh van der Flier is selected in the back row with Munster pair Peter O'Mahony and CJ Stander.

Tadhg Furlong and Iain Henderson are both named among the replacements after recovering from injury.

The other replacements are Ronan Kelleher, Dave Kilcoyne, Will Connors, Jamison Gibson Park, Billy Burns and Jordan Larmour.
