Injury problems mount for United

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Paul Pogba is one of several players that will miss this weekend's Premier League game against Leicester City.

Pogba was forced to withdraw from the France squad due to an ankle injury he suffered away to Southampton before the international break.

Anthony Martial missed the 1-1 draw at St. Mary's with a thigh injury and will be sidelined once again.

Luke Shaw continues to recover from the hamstring injury he suffered in the defeat to Crystal Palace and Solskjaer may also have to do without Aaron Wan-Bissaka (back) and Jesse Lingard (illness).

Solskjaer issued the injury update ahead of the visit of Leicester to Old Trafford:

"Pogba won't be fit, no. Unless he's had a miraculous recovery overnight from yesterday to today or tonight to tomorrow, he's not been ready to do 100% training, no.

"We hope more can be ready for West Ham next week and Paul and Anthony are in that category. I think they'll be ready for then and can't say more than that really."

The United boss added: "There's maybe Aaron, maybe Jesse, and I think maybe that's it from the ones that pulled out of international duty, but I can't promise those two will be available either."

Solskjaer was also asked about the future of goalkeeper David de Gea.

The Spaniard is out of contract at the end of the season and he's yet to put pen to paper on a new deal despite reports he was close to signing a contract extension.

Solskajer said: "I want David to stay here, he knows that. He's the best goalkeeper in the world, we've seen that over the years, and I hope I can make sure he'll finish his career at Manchester United at the highest level.

"There's been loads of talks, lots of discussions between David and the club, and hopefully we can get it done."
