Injured Leinster trio all in contention for swift return

Leinster say that three players with injury concerns after last weekend's action could play this weekend.

James Ryan missed Sunday's win over Montpellier after picking up a hamstring injury in the captain's run the day previously.

Tadhg Furlong was withdrawn after just five minutes with a calf issue, while Jordan Larmour sustained a dead leg.

Leinster won the game by 89 points to seven - scoring 13 tries in the process - but the injuries were a concern for both the province and Ireland.

However, Leo Cullen has issued an injury update which states that all three players could feature against Bath this weekend.

They will be monitored as the week progresses.

There's also good news for Dave Kearney who is continuing his recovery from a back problem.

He's set to increase his training load this week.

Speaking after the game at the RDS, Cullen played down the seriousness of the injuries.

“So, Jordan is a dead leg, probably 25 or 30 minutes into the game," he explained.

"Tadhg, his calf, we’re hoping it’s not too bad. James is a hamstring on Friday. We just sort of managed him yesterday.

"Again, hopefully, it’s not too bad. It doesn’t seem too bad but it’s a short turnaround and we’ll assess him a bit more early in the week.”

Leinster travel to Bath on Saturday as they bid to confirm their place in the last 16.

They currently sit fourth in Pool A, with the top eight set to progress to the knockout phase.

The top four in the Pool will receive a home draw in the next round.
