Coventry and Swindon champions as Leagues One and Two ended early

Clubs in both League One and League Two have voted to end their seasons early.

The leagues' final standings have been determined by an unweighted points per game system.

It means Coventry City have been formally crowned champions of League One.

While Swindon Town are League Two champions.

The Championship is to continue playing to a conclusion, beginning on Saturday, June 20 with the West London derby meeting of Fulham and Brentford.

The motions to end both the League One and League Two seasons were voted for by an "overwhelming majority" of clubs.

An earlier vote ensured that promotion and relegation across the EFL will be maintained, while the playoffs will also go ahead.

Coventry will be joined in the Championship next season by Rotherham United.

Contesting the League One playoffs will be Wycombe Wanderers and Fleetwood Town, and Oxford United and Portsmouth.

Fleetwood's former Bohemians striker Paddy Madden was among League One's top scorers this term with 15 goals.

Tranmere Rovers, Southend United and Bolton Wanderers have been relegated to League Two.

Tranmere had been among the most vocal opponents to point-per-game deciding the table, as they said they were being relegated by 0.04 of a point.

Promoted alongside Swindon from League Two are Crewe Alexandra and Plymouth Argyle.

Cheltenham Town, Exeter City, Colchester United and Northampton Town will contest the playoffs

Swindon's title success has been helped in no small part by Eoin Doyle.

The former Sligo Rovers striker scored 25 times for the Robins this term, helping them end a three-year stay in the bottom tier of the Football League.

Wembley Stadium will still host the playoff finals, although they will be played behind closed doors.

League Two playoffs:

First legs: Thursday 18th June
Colchester United v Exeter City – 5.15pm
Northampton Town v Cheltenham Town – 7.45pm

Second legs: Monday 22nd June
Exeter City v Colchester United - 5.15pm
Cheltenham Town v Northampton Town – 8.00pm

Final (Wembley Stadium)
Monday 29th June 7.30pm
