Ballyboden St Enda's into All-Ireland club series for the second time

Ballyboden St Enda's are Leinster champions for the second time in their history after coming from behind in horrendous conditions.

They beat Eire Óg of Carlow by eight points to six at O'Moore Park in Portlaoise

"County champions in Dublin sounded good - but this is even better," said the Dublin outfit's boss Anthony Rainbow.

"It's not really credited to me, it's down the players and the management team that I have there. If you look at the likes of Brian Regan, Noel Basquel, Fintan Hyland and Kenny Naughten, and my management side. The team themselves have done everything we've asked them to do. The credit really is down to the team.

The Dublin champions were a point down heading into the final stages of the game, however Anthony Rainbow sais they were very prepared:

"I think we were in that situation against Na Fianna. We always knew we had the resilience to come back. And we had the patience to do it as well and we've worked those scenarios in training where we're a point down and its a minute to go and we try and get that winning point."

The Eire Óg boss Joe Murphy said they were very unlucky come the final whistle, "we have to be a little bit braver. We were playing with a little too much containment in the first half," he said.

"And look, they were more or less the same. I think both teams mirrored each other, pretty much. At the end of the day, it came down to the last minute of a game to decide a Leinster title and that's the way it should be."

Ballyboden St Enda's will take on Ulster champions Kilcoo in the All-Ireland semi-final at Kingspan Breffni Park in Cavan on January 4th.
