Jonathan Walters is going to be stuck at the Britannia for the coming season.
Stoke rebuffed interest today from both Leicester and Norwich in order to hold onto the 31-year-old striker.
Walters, who handed in a transfer request ahead of today's deadline, has now been told that he can choose to either see out the remaining year of his contract or accept the extension offer that has been on the table for him for the past month.
But the Ireland forward still saw the funny side of things, with this tweet at Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal:
Helicopter away for the year 🚠sorry LVG it's not happening 😳
