Tributes pour in for Ray Treacy

Tributes have been pouring in for former Ireland international Ray Treacy who passed away last night.

The ex-West Brom and Shamrock Rovers striker died aged 68 following a short illness.

Treacy was capped 42 times by his country between 1966 and 1980.

He later managed Shamrock Rovers and his native Home Farm.

Following his playing career, Treacy became a high-profile figure in the travel industry.

He set up his own agency in the late 70s and was familiar to a generations of the Green Army on away days across Europe and the world.

You can enjoy a little bit of Treacy nostalgia here as he featured for the Baggies under John Giles in a famous win over Manchester United.
