Tielemans reacts to FA Cup final rocket, dedicates win to president

Youri Tielemans was ecstatic following Leicester City's 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the FA Cup final and dedicated his winning goal to the supporters and the president of the club.

"What a moment. I am really happy with this," Tieleman's said in his post-match interview with BT Sport.

"I can't think of a better goal than this.

"I have scored a few but not for Leicester. It was a really nice goal to score in the final of the FA Cup.

With just under 30 minutes remaining in the showpiece final at Wembley stadium, Tielemans smashed home from distance to hand Leicester the lead, sending the fans in attendance into raptures.

Chelsea strived to equalise and thought they had managed to take the tie to extra time after ex-Leicester player Ben Chilwell managed to turn the ball in after a frantic scramble in the box.

However, Thomas Tuchel and his team were left distraught as the goal was disallowed for offside following a VAR review.

Reacting to the disallowed goal, Tielemans could not hold in the laughter as he thanked VAR.

"Thank you, VAR. What an amazing thing that is. It was a tough decision but when you have to make it, you have to make it. It was maybe tight but it was offside."

Tielemans dedicated his winner to the Leicester supporters and to their owner Aiyawatt "Top" Srivaddhanaprabha whose father Vichai passed away in a helicopter accident in 2018.

"I did it for all of the Leicester fans," Tielemans said.

"I am looking up and I see Top there, our president. His father would have been proud even though I did not know him but it is for him, his family, his club and his legacy.

"It is amazing. I am over the moon really. I am really happy for the fans watching from home as well. It was amazing and now we can celebrate."
