The new football season is barely upon us and we already have a contender for the most appalling miss we’ll see in the next 12 months.
Wolfsburg’s Junior Malanda has gifted us this howler, with an inexplicable miss away to Bayern Munich in the opening Bundesliga game of the season. The German champions were leading Malanda’s Wolfsburg 2-1 with just over 10 minutes left, when the Belgian managed to somehow miss an open goal from approximately fourteen inches out.
