The Kick Off: Kerry and Dublin in action this afternoon

GAELIC GAMES

Two of this year's All-Ireland football championship semi-finalists will be known by the end of the afternoon as we've got another double-header at Croke Park.

First up, at 2pm, All-Ireland champions Kerry take on Kildare.

The sides haven't met in Championship football since 2002, when Kerry had eight points to spare in a qualifier clash.

The Lilywhites will have fond memories of 1998, though, when they won this fixture to progress to an All-Ireland final.

They are unchanged from last weekend when they eased past a Cork side that Kerry needed a replay to overcome.

They've made one change from that replay, with Stephen O'Brien coming in to replace Johnny Buckley.

At 4pm, Fermanagh will try and stop a Dublin team that has crushed all opposition so far this summer.

Pete McGrath's side were knocked out of the Ulster Championship by Monaghan before wins against Antrim, Roscommon, then Westmeath have brought them back to Croke Park.

A last-eight appearance for Dublin, though, is routine for Jim Gavin's men - they've only missed out on the quarter-finals once since the round's inception.

It's the first time the sides have met in Championship football but the Dubs go into this clash as hot favourites.

SOCCER

With six days to go until the start of the new Premier League campaign, it's Community Shield day at Wembley.

FA Cup winners Arsenal take on League champions Chelsea for the first silverware of the year season.

Petr Cech will likely start in goal for the Gunners to face his former side but Alexis Sanchez is still unavailable due an extended break after the Copa America and Danny Welbeck is injured.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have Gary Cahill and Diego Costa at their disposal after they both overcame injuries.

GOLF

Kevin Phelan and Ruaidhri McGee are both teeing off early today on the final round of the Madeira Islands Open in Portugal.

Phelan's off at 9.45, on 9-under par, while McGee gets underway from the 10th tee at about 20-past 10 - he's back on 2-under.

The lead is held by Sweden's Pontus Widegren - he's on 16-under, one clear of Roope Kakko and Scott Henry.

RACING

It's the final day of the Galway Races, with all eyes on the Irish Stallion Farms EBF "Ahonoora" Handicap.

There's 15 runners in that one which gets underway at 3:20pm..

The first of an eight-strong card at Ballybrit is off at 2.15pm.
