'God help us' | Roy Keane pulls no punches after Manchester United's loss to Arsenal

With Manchester United still searching for their first win league win at Old Trafford this season, Roy Keane said that he doesn't "see men out there" after the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.

Ahead of the match, Roy Keane spoke candidly about why he's disappointed at Paul Pogba's form during his second spell at Old Trafford and after the World Cup winner clumsily fouled Hector Bellerin for Arsenal's winning penalty, Keane's opinion is unlikely to change.

In a game of few chances, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's penalty gave Arsenal their first victory at Manchester United since 2006 as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s 100th match at the wheel ended in disappointment.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane questioned the commitment and professionalism of the Manchester United team.

"Everyone talks about tactics after the game and how they got it right, well, they got it right because they won the game because United gave a sloppy penalty away.  You're playing for Man Utd because you're expected to break these teams down. You're expected to run back, roll your sleeve up - that's what characters at Man Utd are about.

"I don't see it out there, I don't see men out there, I don't see guys you want to be in the trenches with, guys you trust. In management, you have to trust your players because your job depends on these men out on the pitch. You've to trust them lads out there? God help us," he said.

Later on in the discussion, the former Ireland assistant manager rubbished any claims that his former club has turned a corner after their wins against PSG and RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

"Where do I start? People were thinking United turned a corner after their last few performances, I was never kidded on by that. We spoke before the game about being on the front foot and being aggressive. They were none of those things. No quality, no enthusiasm, no composure. Some performances were really poor. Ole, once again, will be scratching his head. Have they turned a corner? It's the longest corner ever. I'm not convinced with these players," he added.
