Roddy Collins thinks it is far too early to put pressure on Sligo Rovers manager Owen Heary.
The Bit o' Red have made a poor start to the season and are bottom of the Premier Division after six games of the new season.
Roddy thinks new managers should not be judged before the 10 game mark but does see some concerns for the club.
"I think it's a weakened squad at the minute. It's not an ageing squad in years, but in, let's say, enthusiasm. Certain areas need to be sorted out. The performances I've seen, it doesn't look right," he said, adding that defence was the main issue thus far.
Stuey also feels individual errors at the back have hampered them and believes some experienced players need to step up.
But he also feels that the art of defending is something that has been lost generally, and that it applies to all clubs.
"Because of the one-year, 40 week contract mentality, you're getting players who are going from club to club. So players are not being coached and they're losing that knowledge. They're not building on top of what they would have learned from a particular coach. What I'm seeing is that the basics of defending is not there anymore," said Stuey, who feels defenders are more worried about what they must do in possession of the ball.
Meanwhile, Roddy also explained why he does not have the appetite to take up a League of Ireland vacancy at present.
