Pat Nevin believes Manchester United are likely to finish in the Premier League's Top Two next season.
They showed their potential with an impressive 4-2 win over rivals Manchester City yesterday and Off The Ball's Monday night football pundit was impressed by Louis van Gaal's adaptability.
"He doesn't have a best team or a best system. He has the best "teams" and best "systems", depending on how the game's going at the time, the type of opposition and who's on form at the time," said Pat.
"I don't doubt that this team is a good team. It's going to be a very, very good team next year and I'd be amazed if they're not Top two next season."
Pat also feels it is clear that key Manchester City players are lacking hunger and that the fear factor has receded.
"A lot of people have looked at Man City and they haven't seen that hunger for quite some time. One of the things which is a problem they've had for some time is people are seeing now that they aren't the power they were. The minute that happens, teams don't fear them."
