'It's a shambles' | Solskjaer furious with United's hectic schedule

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was not happy with their packed schedule following their 3-1 defeat of Everton in the Premier League's lunchtime game on Saturday afternoon.

His side played away from home in the Champions League on Wednesday night as they were beaten 2-1 by İstanbul Başakşehir.

They were then on the road again on Saturday to take on the Toffees at Goodison Park.

Bernard put the hosts ahead early on before two goals from Bruno Fernandes and Edinson Cavani's first goal for the club secured three valuable points that will take some pressure off the manager for now.

Despite the win, Solskjaer was far from happy at full-time and went as far as saying that their hectic schedule was unfair and provided them with a direct disadvantage.

It was their third match in six days and speaking to BT Sport he said,

"We were set up to fail. I said to you before I wanted to talk to you about the kick off time, they set up the boys to fail.

"Luke Shaw is injured today because we have been to Turkey, played loads of games this season already, we have been to Turkey Wednesday night, come back Thursday morning and to have a kick off Saturday lunchtime is an absolute shambles.

"I can’t praise the boys enough for the character they have shown. Them boys deserve better than to be thrown out here to fail. Authorities set us up to fail.

"How can they set us up after a Champions League game Wednesday night in Turkey and set us a Saturday 12.30 kick off.

"We got Liverpool and City, fair play they are playing each other, they played on Tuesday, play Sunday.

"Who is responsible? We have had enough of that. I have had enough."
