Liverpool are being unfairly treated by the English media as the possibility of the club winning both the Premier League and Champions League remains pertinent, according to The Anfield Wrap's Gareth Roberts.

"I think the way some of the media has talked about the title-race, it comes across slightly biased," Roberts stated on Friday's OTB AM. 

"You can turn the internet on any day and you'll see a poll: Will Manchester City win the quadruple?

"Nobody is talking about Liverpool winning the double, and yet Liverpool are right there."

Sitting two points clear of Manchester City in the Premier League with an extra game played, Liverpool's midweek 2-0 defeat of Porto at Anfield strengthened the possibility that Jurgen Klopp's side will find themselves back in a Champions League semi-final this season.

"They've got one foot in the semi-final of the Champions League," Roberts pointed out,"[and are] right there at the top of the Premier League."

"I haven't seen a single person in the national media or at the top of the media talking about Liverpool winning the double. I've seen everyone talk about City winning the quadruple.

"There should be more credit, because credit is due."

An outlook that somewhat suits Liverpool's run-in, Roberts credited Klopp with creating an environment that suited the players and, from Roberts' point of view, the fans.

"Klopp has generated a bit of siege mentality," Roberts believes, "I'm really enjoying it, it's a fight and it's a battle."

Considering the season as a whole prior to the conclusion of either tournament, Gareth Roberts was quick to point out that irrespective of what happens it has been a superb season for Liverpool.
