WATCH: "I'm afraid of all of you" - Pep Guardiola wary of the English media

With the new Premier League season imminent, fans are ready to experience an unprecedented number of managers who have proven themselves level at the highest level of the game.

Jurgen Klopp, Antonio Conte, Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho and of course Pep Guardiola will all battle it out to bring the league title home and out of the grip of the league's most lovable tactician, Claudio Ranieri.

Speaking at his first press conference this afternoon, Guardiola fielded questions from reporters and said that he is wary of the English press.

"I am afraid of all you," he said, "That is why I take a little bit of distance. I know when we try to do our best and I know when it is not going well, you are not going to help us. I know a little bit about this business.

"That is why it is better to keep a bit of distance. When we play bad you have to say that we played bad so naturally I am disappointed and that it why it is better to be a little bit far away."

This fear is of course justified, when you take into consideration the reaction of the press following England's elimination from the European Champions.

The Times of London, in fact, didn't regard their performance against Iceland to have any positives, awarding every player on the pitch 0/10 in their player ratings.
