"It’s difficult to maintain our current level" | Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah believes the Liverpool squad can win more but admits that it will be hard for the Premier League champions to maintain their current levels.

The Merseysiders face last year's champions Manchester City on Thursday night having wrapped up the club's first English top-flight title since 1990, with seven games to spare.

They are on course to break City's 100 points record having finished runners up last season with an incredible 97 points and the Egyptian attacker is confident that they can win more trophies.

"I’m very happy. I can’t describe my feelings after we won the league after 30 years. I can see people’s joy and this is so important for all of us," Salah told BeIN Sport.

"I enjoy the atmosphere here, I love this place and I hope to stay for a long time. The atmosphere here is different to any other place.

"We have adapted well as a team and our understanding is perfect. If this continues, we can achieve more. It’s difficult to maintain our current level, but it’s not impossible."

Salah was also asked who he thinks should be chosen as the PFA Players' Player of the Year.

He was quick to nominate the club skipper.

"Maybe I’ll choose Henderson because he’s the captain and he’s been here for about eight, nine years," replied Salah.

"He had a difficult time in the beginning and he was heavily criticised.

"He, as a captain, is loved by all of us and he tries to help all players and helps youth players to adapt."

Ahead of the Reds' trip to Manchester City on Thursday night, manager Jurgen Klopp has dismissed any talk of defending their Premier League title.

The German believes that his squad will be starting from scratch once again.

"We will not defend the title or whatever next year, we will attack the next one," said Klopp.

"What we achieved last year, in this case last week, is something for the history books. The rest is just hard work.

"We will try to show that tomorrow night. But it's difficult anyway because City is a super team, absolutely super team, and we have to show that."
