Conor Hourihane included in Ireland squad for World Cup qualifiers

Martin O'Neill has selected an extended 33-man squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Moldova next month.

Ireland will host Georgia in the Aviva Stadium on October 6th before travelling to take on Moldova three-days later in Chisinau.

Barnsley midfielder Conor Hourihane is one of the notable inclusions in the squad. Hourihane was named the Championship Player of the Month for August after a brilliant start to the season. The Cork native previously represented Ireland at underage level and has excelled in recent seasons in England's League One and Championship.

Goalkeeper Danny Rogers also earns a his first senior call-up. He comes into the squad in place of David Forde and Gary Rogers.

Brighton & Hove Albion defender Shane Duffy also returns to the quad. He was unavailable for the qualifer against Serbia after being sent off against France at Euro 2016.

Kevin Doyle also is included in the squad. The Colorado Rapids striker was not picked for Euro 2016, and has scored three league goals this season
