Pat Nevin: 'Cazorla must usurp Ozil at 10 if Arsenal are to win every game

Mesut Ozil seems to be finally showing signs that he is finding his feet at Arsenal.

A free-kick goal at the weekend against Liverpool and some decent recent performances provide some evidence that his growth curve is pointing in the right direction.

But Pat Nevin is still not 100 per cent that Ozil is the man to be relied on as the Gunners look to chase Chelsea down in these final weeks of the season.

The pundit and ex-Blues midfielder told Off The Ball: "After the game, I heard a few people talking about Ozil and I'm just not seeing it with him. I think he's had a good number of utter stinkers in a row, yet he makes a goal and everyone forgets it. Whereas in the background, Cazorla's played absolutely phenomenally. If they're going to win every game between now and the end of the season, I think they're going to have to move Cazorla up and get him in the 10 position because I don't think you're going to get enough out of Ozil against the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea."

Pat was also highly critical of Liverpool full-back Alberto Moreno and his habit of putting his hands behind his backs as attackers bear down on him.

"If anyone ran towards me with their hands behind their backs, I would feel embarrassed because it's so easy to go round them," said Pat, adding that some defenders like Branislav Ivanovic swear by it.

He also feels that Martin Skrtel was badly missed by the Liverpool defence as they failed to readjust, with Pat highlighting the jittery nature of Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure.

Pat also revealed that Wayne Rooney's goal against Aston Villa was his favourite of a wonder-goal infested weekend.

Meanwhile, Nevin believes there is a lack of "passion" among the Etihad fanbase at the moment as Manchester City struggle and fail to inspire them.
