Cameroonian footballer beaten to death claims new autopsy

Back in August, football was hit by tragedy when Cameroonian footballer Albert Ebossé Bodjongo was killed during an Algerian league match.

At the time, his injuries were said to have been caused by an object thrown from the stands.

However, a new autopsy is disputing these findings, claiming that Ebossé was the victim of a beating.

A report by Cameroonian pathologist Andre Moune, at the request of the player's family, suggests that injuries to Ebossé's upper body were consistent with a violent struggle, possibly in the dressing room.

The findings contradict the version of events announced in Algeria at the time of his death.

Moune's report claims the 24-year-old suffered injuries ranging from a "rupture of cervical vertebrae" to "an indentation of the skull" caused by a blow to the head during the alleged struggle.
