Wales kept their quest to win this year's Guinness Six Nations, along with a Grand Slam, on track on Saturday with an easy win over Italy.

Wayne Pivac's side ran in seven tries in a straightforward 48-7 win in Rome.

Ken Owens went over the line twice in the first half for Wales as well as Josh Adams and Taulupe Faletau.

Then after the break George North, Callum Sheed and Louis Rees-Zammit secured what was a routine bonus-point win for the Welsh.

Wales' final game of the championship is against France next Saturday and it could prove to be an all-or-nothing clash with the French also unbeaten ahead of their Saturday evening meeting with England at Twickenham.

Head coach Pivac is targetting improvement ahead of that.

"We need to improve. We need to improve each week.

"We'll review the performance and we know we'll be in for a massive game. We've been on the receiving end of the result both times against France.

"No fans neutralises it a bit.

"We've been to Paris in the autumn so that's a good thing. If you asked the side if we'd take four from four and travelling to France for the Grand Slam, I think you'd know the answer."

Wales won one match to finish fifth in last year's Six Nations and suffered defeats to England, Ireland, Scotland and France in the autumn before a remarkable transformation this year.

"It's chalk and cheese.

"We know the pain we went through in the autumn with the results. But we're seeing the players coming through from the autumn now and doing well.

"We're pleased to be four from four and able to talk about the opportunity of a Grand Slam."
