Pat Lam names team ahead of clash with the Dragons

Pat Lam has named his Connacht side to play the Newport-Gwent Dragons on Saturday night at the Sportsground.

He makes five changes from the team that beat the Cardiff Blues last time out.

Returning Irish internationals Kieran Marmion, Finlay Bealham and Ultan Dillane all start while 23 year old Tom Farrell makes his full debut.

Dennis Buckley, Dave Heffernan and Finlay Bealham start in the front row with Ultan Dillane and Quinn Roux in the second row.

John Muldoon captains the side from number eight with Jake Heenan and Sean O'Brien on the flanks.

Kieran Marmion and Jack Carty are the half-back pairing with Craig Ronaldson and Tom Farrell in the centre.

Tiernan O'Halloran starts at full-back with Niyi Adeolokun and Matt Healy on the wings.

Speaking ahead of the match, Connacht coach Lam said: "We're all really excited to be back playing at home for the first time in five weeks. By all accounts it will be a full house here again tomorrow and that always drives us on.

"We're very aware of where we are in this competition and what we need to do. Dragons will take confidence from their victory over us in round 8 so it's really important that we are right on the money with our mental preparation and execution of the game plan.”

Connacht are currently in eight positioin in the Guinness PRO12 Championship on 25 points - six ahead of their visitors at the weekend.
