Kieran Marmion is relishing the chance to show what he's made of for Ireland after being named in the side to face Canada in Saturday's test international.
A week on from when frontline players secured a historic victory over New Zealand in Chicago, the Connacht scrum-half will get the chance to prove his worth.
The 24-year-old has six caps to his name but has shone for his province over the last couple of seasons.
But he has one of the world's best No 9's in rugby ahead of him in the pecking order for international selection in the shape of Munster's Conor Murray, who was impressive against the All Blacks.
But with an opportunity to start against Canada, Marmion is determined to make his mark.
"It's great. I've been around the setup for a few years now. Obviously I've been in and out in training and stuff so I now I go out and get an opportunity to get a start and hopefully put into the game what I've been learning with training," he told Newstalk's Dave McIntyre.

"Obviously I've had a good few good internationals ahead of me. I mean, Conor's one of the best in the world and I've had Eoin Reddan as well there. So obviously it's been great being around them. But obviously not being able to get quite past them, but learning off them at the same time, so hopefully I can put onto the pitch what I've learned off them."
With Canada only losing 20-18 to Italy and 26-22 to Japan during June 2016 tests, Marmion is taking nothing for granted on Saturday.
"We've been looking back at their footage and we're seeing that they've run Italy and Japan close over the summer, so they're not going to be any pushovers. But if we perform to what we know we can, then we'll make sure we'll get a victory," he said.
Having played with Ulster No 10 Paddy Jackson at underage international level, he also expects to slot into that half-back partnership with ease on Saturday.
