David Pocock may be set to become the highest paid player in World rugby

Australia's David Pocock was one of the stars of last year's World Cup and according to reports in England he may be about to become the highest paid player in the world.

Pocock, who was one of the nominees for last year's World Player of the Year, starred in Australia's path to the World Cup final before the Wallabies were beaten by New Zealand. According to the Daily Telegraph, Premiership side Wasps are interested in bringing the 27-year-old to Coventry.

According to the newspaper; "Wasps have already put feelers out to his representatives and have indicated that they would offer him a package in excess of the £1.4 million that Racing 92 are paying World Cup winning fly-half Dan Carter."

Pocock has spent all of his club career in Australia with the Western Force, and now the ACT Brumbies. The Zimbabwe-born star has played 55 times for the Wallabies scoring seven tries. Two of those appearances came against Ireland in 2009 and 2010.
