In an emotionally charged match at Thomond Park, Munster thumped an in-form Glasgow side 38-17 to win their first match of the competition.
Despite an early red card for Keith Earls after a dangerous tackle, Munster rode the wave of emotion coming from the crowd and powered to an impressive bonus point win.
Tyler Bleyeendal scored and converted the first try with Jaco Taute, Simon Zebo and Rory Scannell also on the score sheet. Munster were also awarded a penalty try after demolishing the Glasgow scrum in the second half.
Munster are now joint top of Pool 1 ahead of Glasgow on points difference. Racing travel to Leicester on Sunday.
In Pool 3, Toulon got back on track with a 15-5 win at Sale. The French side scored all their tries in the first 15 minutes with Charles Ollivon and Leigh Halfpenny touching down. Paolo Odogwu scored a consolation try for the home side.
In the other match in the Pool 3, Saracens came out on top in a thrilling match with the Scarlets. It finished up 44-26. Tries from Mako Vunipola, Tompkins, Bosch, Wyles and Rhodes gave the current champions the bonus point victory. Shingler and Davies crossed for the Welsh side.
In Pool 4, Castres hammered Northampton 41-7 with tries from David Smith (x2), Antoine Tichit, Alexandre Bias and Antoine Dupont giving them the bonus point victory. James Wilson replied with the sole reply for the English side.
Leinster travel to Montpellier on Sunday to complete the pool's fixtures.
In pool 5, Clermont-Auvergne came out on top of an all French affair against Bordeaux-Begles. The sides scored 11 tries between them with Nokaitici, Lapandry, Fofana, Vahaamahina, Strettle and Timani crossing for Clermont. Buttin (x2), Spence, Talebula and Doubrere touched down for Bordeaux.
Ulster hung on for a narrow 19-18 victory over a game Exeter side in Belfast. A dramatic last couple of minutes saw Paddy Jackson and Gareth Steenson trade drop-goals. Steenson then missed the chance to snatch the victory when a second attempted drop-goal faded wide at the death. Sean Reidy scored the only try of the game after an excellent break by Charles Piutau.
