Brian O'Driscoll assesses Connacht's performance against Grenoble and their chances at Pro12 glory

Connacht no longer have the distraction of the Challenge Cup after their exit at the hands of Grenoble last week.

Pat Lam's side will now focus on Munster this weekend as they look to remain the dominant team in the Pro12.

Speaking on the Friday Night BODcast on Off The Ball, Brian O'Driscoll gave his thoughts on last week's game.

"When you're getting all the plaudits for how well you're playing, there's a certain amount of honeymoon period that comes with that. But there is a certain level of expectation that you'll be able to close the game out because you're playing so well.

"There was a similarity between Exeter who played Wasps over the weekend and Connacht, in that there was a bit of naivity in the team. There were times were they were trying to play too much rugby. You're at quarter-final stage, it's knockout rugby.

"Three points can be very, very valuable and it's not all about the million dollar pass or the kick pass that didn't come off didn't work out in their own '22.

"I know you can retrospectively look back and say that's naive and that didn't work. But you do just need a certain amount of game management come quarter-final time. It's important to build on your lead, 19 points to three is a farily hefty lead."

He continued to say that Connacht now need to show their experience and what they've learned over the course of the season.

"You don't have to lose one to win one. They've been, I would say, the best team in the Pro12 this year, the most consistent. They really need to back that up by winning the Pro12.

"They look like they've got a very bright future. Yeah, they'll lose a couple of key individuals, Robbie Hensahw will be a huge loss to them."
