A clean sweep for the Irish provinces in Pro-12 action

It was a clean sweep of wins for the Irish provinces on Saturday in the Pro-12 as Munster, Connacht and Ulster ended the day in the top six.

Munster recorded a 16-12 win away to Treviso. Anthony Foley's side were playing in their first league game since the start of the month after playing in the Champions Cup for the past three weekends.

Lock Mark Chisholm scored the games only try as Munster finished the day in sixth place. Man-of-the-match Ian Keatley kicked Munster's remaining 11 points.

In Galway, Connacht recorded one of their biggest wins of the season as the defeated Pro-12 leaders Scarlets 30-17. Pat Lam's side joined the Welsh outfit at the top of the table on 40 points after the bonus point win.

Connacht were never behind in the game as their forwards dominated the Scarlets pack scoring all for tries for the Westerners. Jake Heenan scored twice before the break before tries from Dennis Buckley and substitute Rodney Ah You guaranteed the bonus point.

Ulster were also bonus points winners. They defeated Treviso 32-13 to move back into the play-off positions. Les Kiss' side now lie in fifth place after overtaking Munster.

All four of Ulster's tries came in the second half.  Sean Reidy, Darren Cave and Rory Scholes scored within ten minutes of each other before Stuart Olding grabbed the bonus point in the final ten minutes.
