After the worst year in living memory – except, perhaps, for some proper old lads – Paddy Power have ensured that one punter will enjoy 2021 a lot more than 2020, by giving them £1million in cash.

That’s through Paddy Power's new competition, The Millionaire Chase, which they are launching at the Cheltenham November Meeting – where Paddy Power returns as headline sponsor this coming weekend.

To enter, you simply need to back the winning horse in one of the weekly Millionaire Chase qualifiers – which will run each weekend from November 14th to December 19th.

After each race, everyone who backed the winner will be entered into a draw for a place in the Millionaire Chase final on January 1st 2021.

Each finalist will be assigned a horse in the Paddy Power Handicap Chase at 2pm on New Year’s Day, with the winner receiving £1million and becoming the first millionaire of 2021.

The losing finalists will each receive £10,000.

Paddy Power: The Millionaire Chase

The first qualifying race for The Millionaire Chase will be the 3:25pm at Cheltenham on November 14th.

Spokesman Paddy Power said: “It’s been a year to forget for most of us – so we want to make 2021 unforgettable for one lucky punter, through our Millionaire Chase competition.

“Simply by backing one winning horse before the end of 2020, they could find themselves crowned the first new millionaire of 2021. Not a bad way to start the year.”

Legendary jockey Ruby Walsh said: “The Paddy Power Millionaire Chase will give people something to think and dream about. Any of us can buy a lottery ticket, but our chances of success are millions to one.

“With this, the odds are lower, and there’s an element of skill. My advice would be that the favourite is unlikely to win in all six races.”
