Patrice Evra rips into Manchester United's shambolic first-half against Spurs in explosive rant

After United went into half-time trailing Spurs by 4-1, Patrice Evra launched an astonishing tirade against the Manchester United squad.

Three goals inside the first seven minutes set the tone for a chaotic match at Old Trafford and while it appears that Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles will be joining Manchester United, it is clear that there are massive issues at Old Trafford that need solving.

Manchester United 1- 6 Tottenham Hotspur. That says enough.

Spurs shellacking

After Bruno Fernandes' early penalty gave United the lead, the tone for United was set when a series of horrific defensive mistakes from Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw allowed Tanguy Ndombele to equalise.

Moments later, Maguire gave away a free-kick for a push on Harry Kane and in the aftermath, the £80m defender completely switched off, allowing a quick free-kick to be taken.

The quick setpiece found Son who finished brilliantly.

As for the third goal,  David de Gea played a short pass to Eric Bailly inside the area, he then tried to pass it to Nemanja Matic but Harry Kane won the ball back. The England captain played it to Son, who squares it for Kane, who buries it into the bottom corner.

Son added a second goal before half time.

Harry Kane and Serge Aurier also got in on the scoring act in the second-half and during his half-time analysis for Sky Sports, Patrice Evra had enough.

Evra

"I don't know if I have to comment on all of this. We get lucky, Tottenham gives us a penalty. I've lost in my career at Manchester United - the Man City 6-1 game -  Ferguson was furious after the game and he said ' Why do you keep attacking, Patrice?  I say it's the philosophy of the club. But are you seeing this right now? I don't even want to comment right now because it's catastrophic what's happening right now.

"My advice to any Manchester United fans is to go on your Playstation and buy Sancho and Messi and start playing. It's a disaster. I've been a player and I don't like to comment on one player - but the whole defence has been a disaster. Bailly got his chance to play ahead of Lindelof and he made that mistake.

"So, don't cry when you (Bailly) don't play. They've been so naive. I'm devastated and I'm a positive person but right now, I understand the pain of all the United fans because no one, no one deserves to be playing for this team right now."
