Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: "It's survival of the fittest"

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits his training methods may have added to Manchester United's current injury crisis.

United could be without up to 10 players for Wednesday's match against Crystal Palace.

Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard were all injured in the goalless draw with Liverpool.

Marcus Rashford is also a doubt, while Nemanja Matic, Anthony Martial, Phil Jones, Matteo Darmian and Antonio Valencia are unavailable.

Tahith Chong, Angel Gomes and James Garner have been added to the squad for the Premier League clash at Selhurst Park.

But Solskjaer says he had no choice but to work the players harder than the previous regime.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer calm despite injury crisis

Solskjaer admits that a heavier training schedule may have played has resulted in injuries:

“It's probably linked, yes," - Solskjaer admitted after being asked if the injuries were a result of the way the players are training.

"When do you make that change, do you wait until pre-season and think you will change results by just not asking them to run, or do we start now and show them what the demands of intensity are and how we want to play?

"And, of course, you have seen what I have chosen. I have chosen that we need to play as a Man United team, and if you want to be a part of Man United, it's a survival of the fittest, isn't it?"
