Seamus Callanan "delighted" to have Sheedy back in charge

Seamus Callanan says Tipperary are delighted to have Liam Sheedy back in charge.

Sheedy led Tipp to All-Ireland hurling glory in 2010, as well as two Munster Championships.

He's now back in charge of the Premier County. Callanan was part of the panel during Sheedy's previous spell in charge and told Stephen Doyle that it's a boost for the county.

"My role in the team might be a little bit different to when I was younger. But Liam is very, very good," he said.

Brilliant

"We're delighted to have him back, leading the set-up out. It's a top class set-up and wherever Liam wants us to go, we'll go for him.

"Look, it's exciting and I'm really looking forward to the Munster Championship now. And having him back is brilliant."

Callanan feels both players and manager are driven to get back to the summit.

"Anyone who has ever walked into the Tipperary dressing room has got the respect," he said.

"You know how much he wants it. He knows how much we want it and we all work together to try and hopefully achieve something together.

"We have a seriously honest bunch there at the moment. Really, really dedicated hard-training bunch and then Liam and his management team are just top class."
