"He killed 16 Czechoslovakians" - Let's Go Back To with Ger Gilroy

The Sopranos changed television forever. From that very first moment when you see Tony Soprano sitting in the waiting room for his therapist, you knew this was going to be a different experience.

It barely missed a beat. It was funny, original, terrifying and dramatic all in equal measure. It had a perfect beginning and a perfect end. This was more than just a mafia crime show, it was the story of how a family survives. Basically, if you weren't a fan of the Sopranos, you have no business being a fan of television - it's as close to perfection as you can get.

It's been 20 years since what is arguably the greatest episode of the Sopranos aired - Pine Barrens. Chris and Paulie go to make a collection from the Russian and screw it up - well, specifically, Paulie screws it up and all of a sudden we're in the woods in the middle of nowhere with two inept soldiers looking for a missing Russian who they're sure is dead. But is he dead?

Pine Barrens is the subject of Let's Go Back To this week. With special guest Ger Gilroy, Eoin and Sue return to why this is the best.

Let’s Go Back To… is a Go Loud original podcast hosted by Off The Ball’s Eoin Sheahan and Sue Murphy that revisits our favourite films and TV shows and chats with a panel of guests about the film they return to over and over again.
