Such was Jon Anik's confidence that Conor McGregor would defeat Nate Diaz at UFC 196, the UFC commentator proclaimed he would get a "209" tattoo if Diaz won.
209 is the area code of Diaz's native Stockton and the Californian fighter regularly talks about, and is proud of his Californian roots.
After Diaz defeated McGregor, he was quick to remind Anik of his promise in the press conference. "Jon Anik better get a f***ing 209 tattoo or I’m going to whoop his little ass".
True to his word, Anik took less that a week to get his first ever tattoo after the fight. The Boston native will always have a piece of California with him wherever he goes.
Who knew that the McGregor-Diaz fight could have such consequences on somebody not even involved in the fight?
