Team Europe is "strong" and "balanced" | captain Padraig Harrington

European Ryder Cup captain Padraig Harrington believes he has a "strong, balanced team" to take on the USA.

Team Europe are on their way to Wisconsin ahead of the team matchplay event getting underway on Friday.

"I have a nice, strong, balanced team," the three-time major winner said ahead of the team departing for America.

"It's very balanced. Good for foursomes and fourballs. We are well prepared at this stage, certainly in my head.

"It's the Ryder Cup so I'm sure there will be a few things that happen that throw up a few complications, but we are well prepared and whatever comes at us we should be able to deal with."

"It's pure excitement for me. I was delighted to get the pick. Last week was a long week, I was looking forward to this moment.

"I am excited to get going, see what the course is like, get in the team room and have the craic with the lads. I'm looking forward to the week."
