Metallica to live-stream a free concert the night before the Superbowl

Despite Coldplay (and Beyonce. And Bruno Mars) being picked for the entertainment during half-time at the Superbowl, heavy metal legends Metallica are still going to celebrate the game being played in their home town of San Francisco.

Their one-off concert - titled "The Night Before" - will take place on February 6th in San Francisco’s AT&T Park, and by visiting either the bands official website, or stay tuned to the YouTube link below, which is keeping a countdown to the event.

Meanwhile, the band's social media has been very active with information about the upcoming event.

The concert is expected to feature some of the band's new music, featuring songs from their first new album since 2008's Death Magnetic.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, guitarist Kirk Hammit said: "It’s heavy. We’ve got some heavy stuff going. It delivers on that front for sure. You know, I would say a lot of it is along the lines of Death Magnetic. A lot of it seems to be going along those lines. But you know, with social media now and everything else, I’m a little bit wary to comment too much on the album, because then people pick up on it. Then, people think that that’s the final definitive statement on what this album is, or how much of it is done, or what it sounds like or whatever – and that’s not really the case. It’s not accurate. We’re still working on it.”
