Prize money for June's Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby has increased by 20 per cent.
Total prize money for the Classic increases by €250,000 to €1.5m, which represents significant increases for the placed horses.
"We have identified the key races which should generate runners for this year's Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby and we hope that this exciting initiative in addition to the increase in prize money for the 2016 renewal, will maximise the potential for us to encourage owners and trainers to be part of Ireland's greatest and most valuable horse race" said the Curragh's general manager, Paul Henesy.
There will also be extra "win and you're in" races where the entry fee will be refunded.
The first four to cross in the Irish 2,000 Guineas, Prix du Jockey Club and the Investec Derby, plus the winners of several races, which include the Irish 1,000 Guineas, King Edward VII Stakes and the Prix de Diane, will have any entry or supplementary fees refunded.
