Adam Scott wins for the first time on the PGA Tour since the putter ban

Former Masters champion Adam Scott shot a level-par round of 70 at the Honda Classic to win on the PGA Tour for the first time since the ban on anchored putters entered the game.

The Australian was one of the most famous players in the game to use an anchored putter before the worldwide ban was introduced at the start of this year. He was the first player to win at Augusta using a belly putter.

Scott started the final round as joint leader with Sergio Garcia but beat the Spaniard by a shot at the PGA National course. Garcia started his round with ten consecutive pars before dropped shots on 11, 16 and 17 helped Scott to earn the win.

It was a positive weekend for Graeme McDowell. The former US Open winner finished in fifth place. McDowell was only one of 20-players to shoot a final round under par. He finished on -4, five shots behind Scott.

Shane Lowry finished the week on +6, after shooting a final round of 75. The Offaly native was in hot water for being overheard by on-course microphones cursing after hitting a poor tee shot.

2015 Champion Padraig Harrington finished the tournament in a tie for 43rd place. The Dubliner finished on +4.
