"I've been doing college assignments" | Galway captain delivers memorable speech

Galway captain Jack Glynn delivered an unforgettable victory speech from the Hogan Stand this afternoon as his side overcame Dublin in Croke Park.

A long-awaited All-Ireland final for the U20 Football Championship, Jack Glynn was oddly unprepared as he took to the Hogan Stand to lift the trophy before this afternoon's senior final.

"I didn't get a chance to write a speech," Glynn revealed after giving the cup a lift, "I've been doing college assignments all week."

Defeating Dublin on a score-line of 1-11 to 0-13, after getting across all the necessary thanks in his speech, he closed off with a welcome message for his teammates watching from below on the Croke Park pitch.

"A special mention has to go out to all the lads," he began, "you went through three pre-seasons and you were still hungry - so lads, this one's for ye, Merry Christmas!"

Speaking to TG4 in the immediate aftermath of the game, the Galway captain doubled down on plans to enjoy their success over the festive period to follow.
