Sunday GAA round-up: Wins for Cork, Mayo and Monaghan in the Football League

Clare are still waiting for their first win in Division 1A of the Allianz Hurling League.

The Banner were beaten today by Tipperary - 2-19 to 0-20 in Ennis.

Galway have pushed themselves into the title equation with a 0-20 to 0-18 defeat of Kilkenny at Pearse Stadium.

Joe Canning also made his first appearance of the season off the bench for the Tribesmen.

Laois have secured their first win in Division 1B, with a 1-18 to 1-14 defeat of Antrim at Armoy.

Earlier, Limerick went second with a hard-fought 4-16 to 3-18 win over Wexford.

Carlow sit top of Division 2A, after their 1-15 to 1-13 win over Derry/

While at Austin Stack Park, Westmeath comfortably beat Kerry 3-18 to 0-12.

And London ran out 3-12 to 2-12 winners over Wicklow in Arklow.

Down were 2-20 to 0-15 victors over Mayo in Division 2B.

In Division One of the Football League, Cork sent a strong message to their provincial rivals, beating Kerry 3-17 to 2-9 at Páirc Uí Rinn.

It was a far tighter affair in Letterkenny where Monaghan beat Donegal 0-9 to 1-4

Mayo drop to second despite their 2-12 to 1-13 defeat of Derry at Celtic Park.

Down pulled level with the Division Two leaders on four points with a 1-17 to 1-16 win over Galway.

While Laois saw off Roscommon 2-17 to 0-16 at O'Moore Park.

Sligo's first win in Division Three was an emphatic one, beating Louth 2-26 to 2-9.

Offaly remain the side to catch in Division Four, despite their 2-13 to 1-16 draw with Leitrim.

Longford are level with Offaly at the top, following their 1-12 to 1-10 win over Waterford.

Carlow and Longford drew 9-points apiece at Dr Cullen Park, while the early throw-in saw Antrim beat London 1-12 to 1-8.
