Ten-time All-Ireland winner Henry Shefflin has called a press conference for midday, when it's expected he'll confirm his departure from the inter-county scene having made his debut in 1999.

Meanwhile, the Gaelic Players Association (GPA) have made a statement on the recent situation in Clare.

Two players recently left the panel after accusing management of double standards over diciplinary issue's within the squad.

They GPA stated: "Having consulted with parties involved, the GPA's dealings in this matter are and will remain of a confidential nature. We have outlined to the players involved that GPA support is available to them through our programmes and services."

SOCCER

Ireland will reconvene for training this morning ahead of Sunday's Euro 2016 qualifier with Poland at the Aviva.

James McClean limped out of training yesterday, but in good news the Derryman has confirmed that the injury is not serious and he will be able to play.

Meanwhile, in the Airtricity League last night, Dundalk opened-up a two-point lead at the top.

RUGBY

Connacht Rugby and the IRFU have announced the recruitment of back-row forward Nepia Fox-Matamua for next season.

The New Zealand born flanker, who has played for ITM Cup side Auckland, has signed a two-year deal with the Irish province.

The 23-year-old will arrive at Connacht for the beginning of the pre-season period in June.
