Cian Lynch: "There's no point" claiming under-21 success will affect Limerick seniors in 2016

Cian Lynch says under-21 success for Limerick is not guaranteed to transfer over to the seniors seamlessly this year.

The 20-year-old notably made his senior debut in 2015 but was also part of the side that won the Munster under-21 hurling crown and then the All-Ireland in September.

"There's a lot of experienced lads and a lot of new lads but at the moment everyone's getting on great. The players are working with each other and lads will push each other. That's what it's about. It's about competition. There's a great competition for places there at the moment," he said at the launch of the 2016 Bord Gáis Energy U-21 All-Ireland Championship.

"But there's no point saying that the under-21 win last year will affect a win this year for the senior team. There's a total difference. Teams are out there at senior level with great teams and coming up against great, experienced teams and we know it's going to be hard this year again."
