Republic of Ireland and Sheffield United defender Enda Stevens committed an uncharacteristically calamitous error to allow Newcastle United in for a crucial goal in Sunday's Premier League clash.
In the immediate aftermath of a regrettable moment for one Republic of Ireland international, it was another Irishman in the Sheffield United back-line who was caught out for Newcastle United's opener.
A game that could have serious ramifications for United's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League, things were level at the half-way mark as they ventured north to Newcastle on Sunday afternoon.
For a second bookable offence, however, Ireland's John Egan was an early casualty in the second-half as United were reduced to 10-men. With the game still deadlocked at 0-0, it didn't take long for Newcastle to capitalise on the mistake.

Breaking down the left-wing in an empty St. James' Park, Matt Ritchie's low cross into the Sheffield United box looked to be under control as the covering Enda Stevens slotted into position.
With Allan Saint-Maxim looking powerless to influence things from a distance, Stevens somehow managed to lose his footing and failed to connect with the ball just as he looked set to clear it from danger.
Newcastle's French forward slipped in, controlled the ball and finished emphatically to put Steve Bruce's side ahead.
To compound the disappointment for Enda Stevens, John Egan, Chris Wilder and Sheffield United, things only got worse from there.
Initially, Matt Ritchie grabbed a second goal for the Toon Army from distance, before Joelinton scored to make it 3-0 as it finished.
